$8 nic nac a bit of a puzzle

Went for a walk through the Historic precinct here in ommers this morning with a mate, checked out some old nic naccy type places and my mate liked this old plane, cheap as chips and a bit of an oddity but thing is we cant work out what it was used for, still has remmants of glue which held something in the place propeller was, thing is its got the cut out around cabin part which was meant for something to sit in possibly?...anyone shed some light? box of matches? Day ended up being expensive for myself as i came across this old oak dresser and my mrs has been after something for yonks so as there pretty hard to find i have bought her it for christmas.Anyway back on topic anyone hazard a guess as to what the old planes purpose was etc...

Yep box of matches I reckon. My Grandad had a set - match box holder, tobacco pouch holder and ashtray. The ash tray was a Lockheed Constellation, The match box holder is a GeeBee Racer and the tobacco pouch holder was a Lockheed 18. But then he was RNZEME (Only NZ Army unit with a Royal Warrant) for 40 years and tended to make and modify stuff at the drop of a hat. Made a beautiful scale replica of Sloan's America's cup boat from aluminum scrap that actually sailed.

The oak dresser is very nice too.

A Bungalow is what English people call a one story "detached" house.
