Anyone out there know anything about dishwashers?

i have a Bosche dishwasher thats around 7 years old and has never missed a beat but last night didnt work, the timer countdown didnt get past 89 minutes and it looks like it didnt let any water into the machine to start the wash, simple fix or bin it?

A few years back the old front-loader washing machine played up, I found a brilliant website out of the UK which covered whiteware troubles and issues... can't find it again, OK haven't looked too far, but might be worth a question of Mrs Google.

Yep we've got one at work that did the same.

It has a fancy cutoff valve that won't let machine fill if it can't get a signal back from float in the waste outlet, meant to stop water continually pumping in when outlet blocked.

Service guy came in and bounced float(moveable dome in bottom of washer) which has it going now but said that the sensor will need to be replaced if plays up again.

Not a biggie so prob worth having a look or getting tech out.

Faulty inlet valve. Dishwasher wont advance until the pressure switch has indicated correct water level then water reaches temperature followed by a preset time washing at said temperature depending on the cycle chosen.

Inlet valves easy to replace. 2 wires and a hose clamp. Normally about $40 for the part.

Also check that you haven't got a blocked filter at the tap end of the inlet hose or the inlet valve itself before buying a new valve.

update the repair was going to be $750 not worth spending that on a 13 year old machine (thought it was only 7 years where did that time go) so bought a new top hole Bosch at hardley Normals for $1650 on sale last one didnt miss a beat until it died so if i get another 13 years out of this one i will be happy

I have a dishwasher, it's that box under the sink the flatmates store dirty dishes. Faster and much better job just washing and drying, especially when the flatties still put cups in up the wrong way, and presume the dish washer is magical and put pots over utensils to block the water..... I've unplugged it from behind and told the flatmates it's broken... Suckers.
