DR650 for sale

Because Im now doing about 90% road riding and about 10% shingle Ive decided to change to something a bit more suitable. This means my trusty 09 DR650 will be up for sale after new year. Its done approx. 40,000 Kms and is mechanically in top condition. How hard has it been ridden? the original chain was replaced at 37,000 kms with a small amount of wear on the front sprocket and no noticeable wear on the back one, (They were replaced anyway with the new chain, another 525). Oil replaced every 5,000 kms. The following is what has been added to the bike and will go with it.
IMS Tank
Re Shaped and padded seat (Ive done 700 kms in a day with no probs)
Oil Filter magnet
Magnetic sump plug
Clymer service manual
Owners manual
Remote choke cable assy. (Not fitted) I replaced the stock one.
Billet choke cable fitting on carb (original is plastic)
Washable breather filter
Extended mixture screw (sooo much easier to use)
Case saver chain guard
New spare chain slider
Fork brace. (Not currently fitted)
Locking fuel cap
New Case Amour (Not fitted yet)
Centre Stand
Front fender Brace
Wolfman front fender bag

Pivot Pegs (awesome)

Trail tech 60mm LED Spots. (Bloody amazing)
H.I.D. Headlight kit. Made a big difference compared to stock then the spots made its beam look pathetic so removed it.
Trail tech Vapour speedo assy and dashboard.
H.D.B. mounting bracket for Vapour unit and relocated after market key switch
B+B Bash plate and rear carrier.
Heated Grips
Renthal Bars
Barkbuster guards and shields.
Heavy duty plastic case mounted on rear.
Comes with all original bits and hardware that have been removed.
Suzuki reckons if it was stock its worth approx. $5,000 and its got approx $2,800 of extras on less freight so Im putting $6,800 on it.
Will have new WOF and Reg is good till 04/03/15

Interesting you mentioned what Suzuki said...
When it comes to trading, never do any bike shops allow for the extra farkles, as far as they are concerned, consumables right...?
They can be bastards for that!

too right, i traded my 08 Suzuki Dr650 in with only 10k on the clock, and that had a nice bash plate, screen, Ventura pack rack system, lowering kit ( im a short arse, and it was still too tall! ) easily 1 k's worth of stuff attached, and they said "Nope not worth extra because it will cost to put back to stock" and they only had it in the shop for maybe a month before reselling at around 3k more than what I got for the bike in trade, kinda wished i didnt trade coz i could have lived with the bike, but really im happier with my new bike anyways

And they mention all the extras the bike has to boost enthusiasm...and to try and justify the price...
The thing is, we know the time and effort made into getting a bike to what Suzuki should have done in the first place. Not to mention the financial costs...
So good on anyone listing all the extras, because I for one recognise the fact and if I don't have do anything other than an oil change, then it can't be bad....

I know the dealers will never accept farkles as part of a trade in but they will certainly push that its got them when they sell it. Sometimes better to get a dealer to sell it on behalf then they don't get a choice, the more they can get for it, the better their commission. Ive already had an offer from a dealer to sell on behalf but the sales manager is a keen ADV rider so I know he will do the right thing.

Yep +1. Done that with most of my bikes weather private or trade in and then sold the bits off afterwards, usually helps pay for new bits on the new bike.
