You need a hill by the sound of it, or get someone to push you while you are sitting on the thing. Make sure you have enough fuel in it first though, otherwise you will be pushing it back.

If it's been sitting for a while the gas may be bad and repeatedly cranking it over may have sucked what little life the battery may have had out of it. If as you say you could not jump start it from a car battery the battery alone can't be the only problem. Not sure why you won't try bump starting it, that would be a reasonable thing to try.

If the bike has electronic ignition it will need a reasonably well charged battery to even bump start...

but were all forgetting its not even turning over, bump start should do it, not hard to try.

Not too much though, machines get addicted to that stuff too.

    Bike started today.

Not sure what was wrong, everything I did yesterday I did today and started today. Possible that I flooded the engine or something?

Very likely. Next time it floods hold the throttle wide open and crank the shit out of it.

welcome to the world of motorcycling, they can be as temperamental as a woman at times.

Possibly flooded given that you mentioned smelling petrol at one stage. Make sure you're not holding the throttle too far open. That's a mistake I made on my first bike.

Glad it's going for you anyway.

Mint. Now it needs a really long ride to charge the battery.
