my car has decided to blow either the head gasket or one of the rad pipes and i need to move it (its parked up at my works place and i cant really leave it there any longer).

Not sure on the law but i know the golden rule "Keep the rope tight at all times "... oh and dont rear end the tow vehicle

Now this would be pretty scary; (but not at 30kph I guess)
    # The maximum speed for towing a motorcycle is 30 km/h.
    # You must not tow a motorcycle unless it is mechanically disabled.

If it's a Japanese car, don't tow it!
Push it, over a cliff or off a wharf.

When I was panelbeating we had this lil old lady come in with damage to both front guards, her story was she was trying to get out of the street when one car decided to back into her while the other drove into her ... The real story was she drove into a tow rope (and it had a flouro flag on it) which pulled both cars into her. Even after being hit she still tried to drive to the other side of the road to get out of the way.
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

    Ahhh... no...

At the least, the driver in the towed vehicle should be using hand signals as per Road Code... at most, hand signals, and have a sign affixed saying "UNDER TOW"

Hazards are for indicating a vehicle that may be a hazard to other traffic.

A vehicle towed properly on a rope should not be one.

its a swedish car...........and i would still rather push it over a cliff, but no, it is going to a home where it might be restored to its former glory.

thanks for the replies you lot.
