I don't care to debate with you the rights and wrongs of what either you or I perceive the situation to be in the middle east - neither of us have enough years left.

In short, specifically, BASED ON THE NEWSCLIP that you yourself posted,

how are these proposed laws worse than the Third Reich?
The nazis engaged in slaughtering people who had done nothing except pursue a personal lifestyle they disapproved of (not just Jews - only 6 out of 11 million were jews) - the israelis, on the other hand, are targeting people actively engaged in behaviour most people would recognise as vicious naughtiness?

ie the nazis targeted people for 'being' (themselves)
the israelis are attempting to target people for 'doing' (bad stuff)

you really can't keep moving the goalposts you know, it's not cricket
I read very little emotion in Oldriders post. My reality/perception yadda yadda.

Do you not think the invasion, I use the term lightly not, of palestine by israel is ok? Have a search for "Evolution of Mandate Palestine" in here and just read the bits under the pictures... if you like. If that was australia obtaining new zealand land, don't you think there'd be a few Kiwi up in arms? Arabs, Muslims, Christians etc... bullshit. It is countries that are the problem, the religions are the excuse. This is an older game than any of us understand and throughout history, you can see how land has changed hands and names and geographical borders etc... You are witnessing the modern day version and it isn't done with handshakes and kisses. My reality/perception based on what I see happening around the world.

Laws and money are tools. Who owns the reserve currency for the global economy? What doesn't money buy?

Just my as unemotive as possible 2c.

Also preventing Israeli war criminals facing legal trial!

ie the nazis targeted people for 'being' (themselves) - So are the Israelis, targeting Palestinians for simply being Palestinians!

the israelis are attempting to target people for 'doing' (bad stuff) - Really! - Pure theatrics, primitive ineffectual rockets against high tech modern weapons!

Israel uses deadly accurate and powerful smart weapons against Palestinian civilian areas deliberately and knowingly killing and maiming innocent people!

Who is really doing the bad stuff?

Netanyahu will probably be returned next election for more of the same - thanks to substantial financial backing from America! (It's their own money I guess)

no point in talking to you if you continually keep evading the point

    appreciate that, thanks

but it's still not on topic re my post ... I repeat, israel's proposed new laws vis a vis the laws of nazi germany where what I was debating ... people in general unhappy with israel's general conduct in the middle east keep trying to hijack the debate and fly it to cuba

in this post of yours you are even trying to broaden the arguement even further to what happens throughout history and in the rest of the world - not valid in terms of my post

    sorry
    it isn't on

Fair enough. The broadening was not intentional, but I believe that it is pertinent. I would say that it is far worse to legislate for what was once a criminal act, especially when that act is murder and the displacement of a people who are fighting for their homeland. If a palestinian is labelled a terrorist (broad definition) and the choose to fight for their homeland, the law is stating that israel reserves the right to obliterate everything and everyone that was connected to their life... and no court in the world will be allowed to challenge those murders because that murder was made legal.

All this blowing up and shooting and shit has got to stop.
We should go back to the good old days where you just infect a whole heap of blankets with diseases and hand them out as loving gestures, much more civilized.

I do hope that I have never used that descriptor in this context
we were talking about the middle east - last time I looked, Arabs were Semites too?

Not in the context of "anti-semitism". That appears to be used exclusively as meaning anti-jewish.
(Otherwise the Israelis would be anti-semetic on account of their attitude and treatment of Palestinians)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

talking fact, not common usage ... but, thinking about it, I haven't heard of Arabs being called anti-semetic when they target israeli school buses either so it just goes to prove how daft the entire situation is? we in the west seem to be the ones slapping labels on people that they don't use for themselves so seemingly logic has nothing to do with anything any more

    True!

Nothing more to be said either - just watch and wait helplessly as wars roll on and on and hope that we and our children are spared the indignity of it all.

Not looking good just now is it! After all, He started it all in the first place, didn't he?

Things sometimes have to get worse to get better. A lot of alcoholics will tell you that they really had to hit rock bottom, before they could make any sort of real change in their circumstances.
And I think there is a way to go before society as a whole reaches rock bottom. Who's God will be left on the rank? Maybe that is what started all this nonsense, I'm right, your wrong kinda thinking.

    Stupid humans.........Beam me up ramtha.

Perhaps a new ordered world instead

It's looking as it has to look and it will likely get much worse... right up to the point where something more sane comes along and the majority get a chance to vote for it. The darkest hour is just before dawn, We changed at the precipice, No fate but what we make etc...
