They have twin exhaust system / come with 51mm & 57 mm throttle body's 2 EPROM Carbon fibre race airbox as a replacement for the bigger throttle body's & stronger con rods . These engine don't make 140hp they are 130 at best . Point this out as people need to know correctly what they are buying so please advertise this bike correctly. 03 - RSVR MILLE -
Hmm, i guess it isn't a bone standard Colin Edwards, It did come with the enlarged throttle body, a Colin Edwards ECU (it's litteraly stamped on it) An open carbon airbox, and the black swing arm. The fairings aren't the original and the OZ wheels are blue on the 02 models I thought, gold on 03 standard RSVR's and Colins, Maybe they stayed blue on both. They have a claimed crank BHP of 147 at 9,500rpm but i've never dino'd it so actual rear wheel power would be less.

Eitherway, it's a powerful, great handling and beautiful bike...

Those look like non-standard brake discs on the front, do you know why they were changed?

I don't know sorry, they were installed when I bought it. It's stopping power is insane though, I just stick to using 1 finger. I did look for signs of a crash when i bought it, i've had all the fairings off and there is no sign of any low side, So i'm not sure why they would be replaced or the fairings. The stator cover is clean, no scratches on frame, small scratch on swing arm though. So it hasn't been down. I'd say when it was sitting in the container things were dumped on top of it which scratched up the fairings, replacing them with OEM none Colin fairings.

A search using the VIN number at the aprilia website will tell you the year of manufacture and model.
RSV Mille: No madam, its an Aprilia, not a Harley. If it were a Harley, I would be pushing it !

Austrian, not German, but yes completely agree... only issue with mine was the crappy regulator rectifier. replaced that and she's all good. even riding daily thru winter

As Sensei said, it's not a Colin Edwards. It's an RSV R (what they used to have before the "factory" model for the top end kit, like ohlins instead of showas etc)
aprilia have this bike listed as "RSV 1000 R 'EVO' NERO A. *3*" (the 3 also confirms it's an 03 bike) - the address for this site is http://static.piaggio.com/recall/form-aprilia_en.html

The Colin Edwards ECU was a retail part from aprilia - as were the airbox mod and a couple of other things you mentioned. it's quite common for folks to upgrade their aprilias with these parts to make them even faster. They are still available thru sites like af1 in the US

The dumb way that NZ registers vehicles means you can either register a vehicle as year of manufacture, or the model year, or the year it was first registered overseas if it's an import. this bike is definitely a 2003 bike, you can see that by the vin number, plus as has been mentioned the 2004 onwards RSV was the gen II which is a totally different bike. This bike was first registered in the UK on 1st August 06 and was then first registered in kiwiland on the 29th September 2011. The reg system in the UK is year related, so it would look newer on the road from the registration plate, by being registered after August 1st - it is not uncommon for aprilias to sit unsold in dealers - especially in the UK then as the importer was being replaced by another firm and the R was an expensive bike. (there's a brand new, unused 2008 aprilia on tardme at a dealer in auckland).

As for the brakes, these are the Brembo radial setup from the R model and have not been changed. Regular RSV's and Tuono's (like mine) just had the standard Brembo golds

Mossy - buy this and bring it down to Wellie. would be good to have another aprilia down here and this is a bloody good bike

Wow, nice info thanks, yes one thing for sure was that it was an 03, I looked at a few 01/02 and although the differences were minor, I liked the look of the 03 one of the reasons I bought it. Definitely isn't disappointing to look at and ride.
