Depends on the bike. The weight penalty would be insignificant on my CB1300 and there has been a few times I have cursed the absence of one.
Took one off the GSX1100f. Found very little difference except it was pain to work on or load for longer trips. Put it back.
One thing is certain. I have never had a centre stand poke through the tar seal, concrete or other surface and drop a bike on its side.
If they weren't so fiendishly expensive I would buy one for the CB.
Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.
I have. My CB400SF did that. Erected the centre stand and the bike sank immediately into the melted hotmix and tipped left. The sidestand was extended and that stopped it from going right over but that started sinking in too. Had to haul the bike up and move it elsewhere to park.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
Think ill just hand the centre stand in a box with the rest of the parts to the new owner maybe if i ever sell her
Nothing like a redundant system.
Some of the worst injuries I have ever done myself have been because I failed to use the side stand in some way and had to catch the bike. Only had to pick the one bike up. The busa. Needed picking up on both sides at one point or another.
The CB is the only one I have owned that has never punched through or rocked off the stand. Possibly because the fat whale is so heavy I take extra caution?
Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.
