Gotta rave about this customer service. Bloody great result!

Over the new year period I purchased from a reputable retailer on-line a Cabana table and two bench seats.
They fold away into the table and are pretty awesome and robust. The price was $107.99, reduced from $239.99 or something, so a great deal
Table was dropped off into my garage Last Tuesday and I didn't get the chance to unpack it until Monday the following week.

It had been dropped and their was a small crack and split around the resin area on one corner. I was a tad pissed off so called the help centre and they said...
"yep, we have had a few of these damaged in transit" we will get onto it and send you another...
Another table arrived this morning at 0720 and again was dropped off (placed) who knows... on the garage floor.
It included courier tickets to send the damaged one back to CHC.
Well, bugger me, I unpacked this one and it was damaged on the top, enough to say that a glass of beer or wine wouldn't sit right as there were ripples and pressure marks from whatever was pressing down on the box prior.

I hop into the truck, head over to Te Awa mall and explain to the gorgeous staff there my issue. They got onto customer services and resolved the issue.
"we will refund you the full amount and you can keep whatever table and bench seats you want"

So, I drive out of the mall with a brand new, lightly cracked corner to the table, fully wrapped and a full refund for $107.99!
AND they then said here, keep the 20Kg Courierpost tickets Interisland too...

Now that is pretty awesome. For that small, wee damage I can cope and silicone it up. It was free!
So good on you Kathmandu! I will keep that in mind when shopping for the future....

Not bad aye? Happy camper/bbq' er.....here.

    Like this.

Some folk are quick enough to complain when things go wrong. So, it's good to see praises being sung about things getting sorted.

Shit happens (unfortunately). So, as well as knowing who to avoid because they won't sort it out, it's also good to know who would.

    Premature....now a rant...

Well, I unboxed this, turned the table upside down to extend the legs and......
The whole based snapped out of the resin underneath! I had three screws, pieces of plastic all over the floor and basically a useless table.
Did I pull too hard trying to extend the legs perhaps? No, surely not....
They were bloody hard to get out though.
No longer is it a picnic table, it is fodder for the refuse.....

The bench seats are cool, they will come in handy when cleaning the bike...

I am over buying this crap from places....If you want quality, pay for it. Sad, but true.

Check these out, they are available at Bunnings and the price is good.
I have been using a couple of these for several years now without any issues.

Sure wasn't quality materials. I have no issue buying Chinese made but in this case, after trying two tables I give up.
Bunnings maybe the go as per the previous posters recommendations. And I say maybe...

Oh well... I'm no later than usual when responding to a thread...

We bought a patio set from Bunnings. Glass top table, four fixed chairs, 2 reclining chairs and two footstools. All up price - $149. We figured if it lasted more than a summer it was probably doing well, but we were skint and needed something.

Got home, found a problem with the table so got on the phone. "No problem - what's your address?"

Next day, a Bunnings van turns up and delivers a new table. They had a spare set of chairs in the van too, "just in case." They built the replacement table for us and took the old one, and all packaging away.

I'm sure the table will rust through eventually, but so far, two years later, it's all good and we use it regularly. I had a very nice doze in the recliner at the weekend.
