    wanted MVX250!!!!

I know.. it's sick but I'm going to restore a MVX250 just for the hell of it.
I haven't got enough problems in my life so this project should take care of that. anything considered parts, complete bikes ,running or not ( guess running is a bit of a joke )

You're a sick, sick person. It was once my life ambition to own the last running MVX on the plannet. I've owned three now but apparently, the only way to keep 'em going, is to not ride them.

Fucken cool bikes though. They sound grouse!

    Man, that is sick.
When these came out, I was running Team Mens Wearhouse for Mike Webb and Pete Clifford. Amongst other things, Mike was running a RZ250 in what had to be the most hotly contested 250 proddy class ever. The Champion 2 Hour race used to be held at Manfield the day before the Six Hour and I remember Mike pitting with the imprint of the sole of Glen Williams boot on the fairing...

Anyways, the hot bikes were the RZ (Mike & Aaron Slight), the RG (the Ramage Brothers, Robert Holden) and the KR (Glen Williams)and when the MVX came out we figured the competition would hot up - WRONG. They were sooooo slow. What a lemon - we were reliably informed at the time that any of the initial production run left at the factory went in the crusher...I would imagine that parts are gonna be a real problem to find for this bike.

Two of mine had the radiator shrouds and belly pan fitted. That tidied them up a bit.

They certainly weren't as fast as a KR or an RG in acceleration, they were also quite a bit heavier and had alot less cornering clearance.

Actually, can't remeber what the hell I saw in them? Ahh that's right, they weren't bad handling and you could get away with bloody murder on them.

Hey, think I was there for that. I was pit crew for a team that ran a NS400R in Jnr Production one year, and just for a laugh we ran a MVX250 on Saturday, just to get some extra track time. Fucken' hoot watching the boys carving up the odd TZR etc! Never died either, went bloody well.
The NS below, sadly none of the rat!

The MVX...... awesome shit. There was a hot up kit you could get for them that made em really haul arse, and last a fraction longer.... mind you I found that colder plugs made a differance to the holeing piston problem.

heres a pic from the 80's of the two MVX's I used to ride with the single seat/full fairing bike was the go fast bike... the other was stock, rear piston.... left piston..... rear piston.... right piston..... rear piston, and so on, but hey a Vee triple two fiddy in the 80's so cool

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Run, don't walk! The only thing to make a bad, abused Italian car or bike (or a Jawa) look reliable..
I knew 3 people who had them - all went boom. One sick mutha had at least 2 at the same time and I can't remember if he got a third before quitting while behind and bought a TZR..
Trevor Heaphy in Auckland used to race one. Used CR80 pistons IIRC for a little extra displacement. IIRC He said it was a rolling hand grenade..
Not one of Honda's finest efforts.

I heard (not sure if reliably) that the rear piston conrod was made heavier to balance the 2 front ones up a little better and because of this put heck of a strain on the crankshaft.

    Dunno how true this is.
