I thought it was about deciding which colour crayon to make touristy drivers complete their roadcunning tests with?

I saw some appalling driving when i was in France a few years back, mostly by the kiwis i was there with who are also appalling drivers at home. Crap drivers are crap drivers even when they're on holiday

Still can't figure how people end up on the wrong side of the road, if i started to head that way it felt completely wrong to be on the wrong side of the car and away from the centre line
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

It only takes a few seconds to realise your mistake but unfortunately in those few seconds you can have a high speed head on and suddenly be up for a public hanging in NZ.

It feels completely wrong to have the steering wheel on the 'wrong' side so that throws you anyway. Hate to say it but the reality is that if you allow people to drive here who normally drive on the other side of the road then you will always have head on crashes caused by them reverting to instinct. Should we burn them for doing something we could easily do ourselves while on holiday? Seems like that is what the media are pushing at the moment. Dealt with two major crashes in last 24 hours but neither had a foreign driver so they were only worth a couple of lines in the paper.

Testing will do fuck all to stop these very rare but always high profile crashes from happening. All the other crashes (with the exception of any crash caused by a shithouse Chinese driver) are caused by the same things that cause crashes with NZ drivers, bad choices and bad decisions. Fuck, tourism is so big I am surprised that the numbers are so low. Lower than the numbers driving anyway, but that seems to be missed by the rabid media at the moment as well.

I think rental car companies should suggest that when renting to people who generally drive on the right side of the road, that the front seat
passenger should be staying as alert as the driver to signage and road position, rather than relaxing and gazing at the surrounds.

... along with welding a large spike in the centre of the steering wheel as "encouragement to focus on the fucken' road".
