    Auckland Buckets Round 5 results

    Hi all,

Another great day of racing in the sunshine at Mt Wgtn. After round 4 I suggested that a "sub-30 second lap on a 50cc bike is looking distinctly possible". And at his next serious attempt, Nathanael Diprose has done it. I must extend my congratulations to Nathanael for his 29.831-second lap in F5 race 1 today. I'd be even happier if I wasn't the poor sod in second place watching him disappear into the distance.

Congratulations also to Rod Gibson for his first F4 podium in race 1! Rod and his beautiful Minarelli-engined TZ just keep on getting better.

Blair Lambarth was once again a hard man to beat in B-Grade. His chances of spending a second season in that class are looking slim. Sorry Blair. The other B-Grade riders weren't just making up the numbers either, with 6 riders managing sub-33-second laps in race 2!

The C-Grade provided more close racing. As an example of how close it was, in race 1 every single rider managed either a 34-second or a 35-second lap! Ben van den Berg, William Foster and Dylan Byrne fought over the podium places with Ben and William each managing a win.

There was only one sidecar race and only two sidecars in it, but those spectators lucky enough to see that race were treated to lap after lap of wheel-to-wheel racing between Chris & Andrew and Rick & Henk. Brilliant, thanks guys!

Crazy stuff. I remember back in the day 34 i think, seemed like a good time.

That's odd. You have a Malcolm Nabbs in A grade too. He was supposed to be running our meeting. Never showed up. Odd.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

It would be hard to compete against a beer festival followed by a weekend on board Deviant racings works bike.
