    1. Shouldn't our politicians be sitting with their heads in their hands in shame realising that we don't like EITHER main party enough to give them even 50% of the vote? Neither one can claim a clear victory or a undeniable mandate from the people.
    2. The economy is slowing. Been happening in the rural sector quietly for a few years- this years Chch AMP show is going to be the quietest in YEARS because things are so flat. The building sector is slowing. Inflation is racing up. Labour isn't going to have anyone to blame if THEY get in. I didn't vote for them, but I hope they get in

McGillicuddy Serious...where are you? I quite liked the idea of possums being trained as sniffer dogs...

One vote bribe or another, at least National offered theirs first, funny how millions can suddenly be found after being told there was nothing left to give in the BUdget.....

    Time will tell.

OK, I know it's rhetorical, but "Yes, they should".

I made a point on an earlier post about politics taht i might occasionally agree with something politicians say even though I think they're filthy lying scum, well here goes:

I agree with Don Brash: it is time for a new government.

However, I disagree with him as to who should be the new government (and being fucked over by National is not new, anyway, been through that a large number of times)

I wish the Nats and Labour would just fuck off, it's time for someone else to hold the reins (not saying they would not fuck up badly as well, but at least they'd fuck up in new and exciting ways)

As an exRN (the nurses now have pay parity will the cops, about bloody time), pro legalised Pros and all for the Civil Union Bill, I will be quite happy to have a Labour lead Goverment. I could not trust National and their cohorts not to undo it all. Nor do I believe that a tax cut would have helped releave the under funding of Health and Education.

I was wandering around St Luke's this afternoon nursing my hangover when I nearly walked into Helen Clarke. Don't know what she was going there - no cameras, one security guy with her. She stopped to chat with a few people but that was about it.

I was surprised she was out and about - she looked absolutely knackered. Far older than she normally does on TV and photos, but maybe that's the real life affect.

Actually, I was kind of annoyed I didn't step up to talk to her. I was wearing my leather jacket and carrying my crash helmet, so I wanted to ask her why I just got the paperwork for my cage and bike registration and the cage is cheaper than the bike ($200 versus $250 for the year)! How the hell does that work? Surely bikes are cheaper in every way? Less road damage, less space on the road, less parking required, less fuel used, less cost to the health service because of fewer injuries?

Doubt it would have changed anything, but it would have been interesting to hear her response.
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)

It's there ACC would disagree with you and why our bike reg. is so high. If ACC had had they way, bike reg's would be higher again. Instead they increased the ACC in fuel prices.

Read Granny Herald's editorial this morning. Could it be that the voting percentages indicated a reluctance to change the government? No way. They clearly showed that the country was in a mood for a change. How to prove that a glass is half-empty instead of half-full...

It's still preferable to having a party with 39% of the vote, yet winning more seats and gaining power. As we had several times under FPP.
