Camo riding pants on Trade Me

I am looking at these as a budget alternative.

They all look similar from three different suppliers. Has anyone had any experience with any of these three? They are all lower end gear, looks like it is even made by the same manufacturer, just branded differently. And they are all roughly the same price. Not sure which to choose.

I have a pair of Draggin Camo pants --->> http://www.cycletreads.co.nz/product...nisex_jea.aspx
Can be worn over normal jeans.
The ones you're looking at have a black 'arrow head' bit, drawing people's eyes straight to the crotch area..

i have the cnell camo pants, very comfortable, average build quality, couple of the seams are splitting at stress points (these are less than 3 months old) but overall, for a very cheep pair of riding pants, i'm happy

    Same.
I was expecting some horsey gals in tight riding pants.

    Disappointed.

What happened to the Camel-toe thread.

Other than Draggins I have yet to see camouflage pants in a quality build. And even then you are trading safety features for a look and comfort level you find satisfactory.

EOD it is all about the magic triangle.
    Quality, style, price.
    Pick 2.

If your on a budget getting gear that will protect you is number one. The fact you will need to replace it is secondary. All gear dies. Cheap gear dies faster. Some cheap gear lasts well but not much and it is hard to pick.

What you need to look for:
Is there armour where you want armour? It is a choice and you can chose to go without. Just make sure you know what you're choosing and if you choose it it had to be where it will help.

Is the armour CE other standards approved? Not all good armour has paid to be tested and certified but if you're not an expert look for a cert.

Is the material at least 200D for town use or 400D for majority of your kms are on the open road? I have seen 100-800. They are priced accordingly and survive gravel rash accordingly.

Do they work with your boots?
No point getting tuck in pants if your boots have no room for pants.

Do you need them to be waterproof / vented / both? For each feature you add add some more notes to the pile.

If you only need some waterproof ness not heaps you can get spray on treatments, but only a membrane and a good material and treatment is waterproof to any meaningful degree.

Do they fit in a riding position? No good hanging your builder out in the rain to save a buck.

Is it on special? If it is not it is probably overpriced because we are a small market in a small country. Get used to it or learn to negotiate.

    I hope this helps.

I would rate all of the 1-tonne and lifestyle imports gear I have seen in person.

The CNELL gear can be a bit hit and miss. I like their mid level stuff but thought their cheaper stuff and their top of the range stuff overpriced.
Shit zippers. Poor stitching. Uneven panels.

I have 1-tonne leather pants and intend buying more gear from them soon.

cnell pants are shit mate, (I had a set, the stitching is so bad, NO WAY WORTH $160 I bought for) ended up buying some $90 dririder pants which are 10x better in stitch strength/craftmanship
