This is the chain I have for my bucket.

Unfortunately it approximately 100mm too short. Do I have any other options other than forking out for a whole new chain and connecting?

A better option would be buy a longer chain and fit it without connecting
My neighbours diary says I have boundary issues

Yeah, but this is what I have and I can't really afford to buy another unless I really have to. They're not cheap.

This could be just the incentive you need to get in and shorten the swingarm

That seems very long. Is the engine in the right place do you think?
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

Sell that chain to Pete and buy two cheaper ones.

John - using two connecting links is not ideal but I have done it while playing around with different sized rear sprockets. If you have another 428 chain that is not knackered then cut a piece off that and use two links (probably worth buying a new second connecting link). I have seen other bikes at Kaitoike using two links. It will get you on the track......

Man buckets aren't putting out massive Hp.
I've (actually all GPR bikes) have been running cheap ass 415/420 chains with two joining links for years (decades even). Why buy million $$ chains?
Just ensure everything is aligned, keep them clean and go racing.

A cheap 428 chain is $45 a flash one is $75 and a gold plated one is $120 so you got choices

The RGV wheel base is pretty long. I've had the rake of the forks steepened by 2% to quicken the steering and will play around the geometry a bit when I get it on the track.

428 is the same size as cheap 1/2 inch industrial chain, (the 4 in 428 is for 4/8 inch) you can but it buy the foot or a 10ft box full. I use it on my trials bikes. Seems to last ok

Drop into your local Saeco branch and they should have it
