Never been there, been in Czech Republic though. Once on the border in 1973 as a young GI, and last spring. Enjoy your trip to NZ. It is much different from Europe in that the majority of the people actually like Americans. It is a hauntingly lovely place that places your senses on overload. I have been traveling there for decades, and I have yet to have a boring trip. You will not want to leave. If you want culture, check out the Otara Flea Market near Auckland. Every culture in the South Pacific is represented. I do not leave NZ without checking it out. It is only open on the weekends. If you like cheese, stop in at Mercer between Hamilton and Auckland, the best in the world. I am eating a grilled (toasted) sammy right now of their chili cheese. Best thing to do is hit the road and see what hits ya! I took a ride like that in 2012 when I retired and wound up in Newfoundland in St. Anthony, which is as far north as Alaska.
    Good Luck!

That is a lovely comment, thank you so much! It would be great to ride up to Newfoundland some day. Nova Scotia is soooo far away though....

I don't like crowds but you make the flea market sound interesting. I will check it out, thank you.

Hey all, I had a couple of people send me private messages and I replied and clicked "Submit Message" but I don't see my replies in the Sent folder. Any idea why that is? Also, when I tried to do "Send private reply" it said I couldn't because I'm a new member and I haven't used the forums enough.

Basically - if the two people who wrote to me see this thread, can you confirm that you got my replies? Or send me your email addresses so that I can contact you outside the forum.
