Live long and prosper Mr Spock

I didn't realise what a major influence watching Star Trek had on my childhood until Bones died a few years ago and now Mr Spock has gone.

Hearing the news immediately made me feel sad and the world felt a lesser place for their passing. Not the reaction I get when most actors die, which tells me they touched a nerve. Thanks. Hang in their Captain Kirk!

Farewell Dr Mcccoy (DeForest Kelley) and live long and prosper Leonard Nimoy. Thanks for giving us an awesome TV series and inspiring us Kids to think beyond our little planet

Nice pics they put up on Stuff.

Finally beamed up aye. Was a great show as a kid, but the later series did nothing for me.

Back in the late 60's at school we had a tree out the back of std 3 and 4 that was the Starship Enterprise, I don't think I made past that random guy who you knew was not going

    to be 'beamed back" status.

Kids probably use an Ipad whilst sitting on padded seats in padded playground being supervised now.

Later series were not as good.

Ah Black and White one channel memories.

Well that Sucks - only the other day I was watching the Box set of TNG and was up to the episode re-unification part 1 and 2 (which has Spock in it)

Never been a trekkie but he seemed to be a respectable man who used his position to do a bunch of great stuff for the education of what, 2 - 3 generations? Certainly one dude that the world is better off for having.

I have been a fan of STAR TREK for 30+ years, and like OP I am surprised how sad I am that Leonard has died. Hang in there Nichelle, George, Walter and Bill!

Like the man said, LIve long, and prosper.

I do recommend his book "I am Spock" by the way. Far superior to Bill's bio of the Star Trek years.
