I mean, Campbell may be gone because apparently people didn't watch his shit. And yet most here want him around.

And most seem to have a problem with 7sharp. Yet apparently it rates higher than a hot thing.

Seems to me you just can't trust what anyone says, y'know?
Anyone here ever been part of the "ratings" audience? I've never, in the 50 odd years of TV viewing - I was about 10 when my parents got their first TV - been asked my opinion of any shows or queried of my viewing habits.

Seems a very small and select group have undue influence over what is or is not broadcast.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

You mean; Kiwibiker isn't the very last word in authoritative conspiracy mongering?

I've actually never watched it. Well, not after the first couple. I thought there was a definite tendency to manufacture angst, and frankly I'm sick of it.

Which isn't to say the press doesn't have a role to play in keeping shysters, official and otherwise as honest as possible. I just have an aversion to the artificial variety.

I seem to recall someone calling to ask family preferences, must have been at least 30 years ago. They haven't called back.

There's known statistical difference between volunteered opinions on preferences and the superset of all actual preferences. The more vocal are often the minority.

they can measure how many people choon in by how many gigawatts the antenna draws.
Easier now its digital and your tv tells them what when and where.

Pffft, some were the same people, but had grown in caliber (that bird who played aurora for example); others were just a class above (Van/Jethro. wolf) as evidenced by their going on to much bigger roles. Defiance (wolf) is alright, but Banshee (van/jethro) is fucking top tier.

Oh fuck have a google I did I can't remember they names though.

Starr began his professional acting career early in the 1990s with a small part in Shortland Street and guest roles in Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
Starr had a recurring role on the soap opera Shortland Street for several weeks in 2001.
In 2001, Starr was cast in Mercy Peak as Todd Van der Velter, one of the no-good, white trash Van der Velter brothers. It was a guest role that he had throughout Mercy Peak’s three seasons. He also received a role as the brother of long running character Waverley Wilson in the soap opera Shortland Street. He appeared for several weeks as part of the write out of the Minnie Crozier character. Starr did not like the fast pace of the show and thought his performances suffered due to it.
NZ is a small place the directors were also nearly all worked at both at some stage.

The cute Asian was on Young performers or what ever it was called.

    Robyn Malcolm

Malcolm's first long-running television role was nurse Ellen Crozier in soap opera Shortland Street. She appeared on the show for five years and was nominated for Best Actress at the 1998 TV Guide Television Awards

    Shane Cortese
Cortese made his Shortland Street debut in early 2003 as the character of Dominic Thompson. The character stayed on screen for just under 2 years, before dying in one of the shows most iconic and well received storylines.

    Claire Chitham
Claire rose to fame as Waverley Harrison (née Wilson) in the New Zealand TV show Shortland Street, from 1994–1995 and 1997–2005 and Aurora Bay in Outrageous Fortune from 2006-2007.

    Kirk Torrance
    2004-2005 Shortland Street
    Dr. Bronson Paraone

John Leigh (born 1965) is an actor in New Zealand. He has had roles in New Zealand TV shows such as Shortland Street

Shortland Street (1995–1996) ... Dr. Julia Thornton

A family member who has a mild mental illness was for some time... that explains the program choices these days... Obviously they have no vetting procedures, its just whoever is interested when they advertise for respondants.
Was about ten years ago and quite a hefty paper survey form would arrive in mail for him often. I guess its probably online these days, but really how many normal people would have the time or be bothered to do it...
A lot of viewing data is remotely collected these days via sky etc, they 'know' what people are watching.

BTW had a hot date last night, when she said she loved watching Campbell live I knew it was all over... screw you JC LOL....

I'd rather watch " The Axzle Show" than Paul Henry or Mike Hoskins ()
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
