Many years ago when the Traffic Dept had motorbike cops, there was a local bike rider with a handlebar mounted windshield. He had 'TERRIFIC' written across the base. Wore a black jacket and a white helmet. I believe the authorities soon sorted him out.

Without the 'Polite' word it'd be fine. Adding that just makes it cop bait really. If the cop concerned already has a dislike for motorcyclists this would run the risk of turning that into a seething hatred.

Read the article, says they were first worn by road cyclists.... that says it all and is the issue for me, being mistaken for one of them not being mistaken for a cop!

All your going to do by wearing that is antagnoise the haters anymore once they are close enough to realise your not a real cop. They then have a real short time frame to think and do something stupid before contemplating the consequences. Wear one hell no....

Better off wearing one of the Mil Spec flouro vests from the American websites, visible and with armour inserts.

Here in Victoria (Aus), at least, it is mandatory to wear an approved hi vizzzz vest on your learners. Min 3mths. We sell them & customers look ever so lovely in them....

The problem is, all of the cages would be calling up *555 saying "waaah waaaah I saw a cop doing 110kph waaah waaaaah lanesplitting waaaah waaaah" and you'd end up with unwarranted attention.

Great idea! More use for cyclist and horses than KBers but great idea. You might get a cop with an attitude try his luck, no way it would stand in court though so doubt said cop would charge you.

The NZ road code actually promotes high viz vests to be worn here, I would consider wearing one in the fog or if I do alot of night rides.

These are very functional and easily seen. I gots one for US rides.
