Yip, VMCC struggled with low numbers of Vollies (massive thanks to those that braved the weather and made it a very successful final round).
Also those riders whom couldn't race (issues, engines, sickness etc.) who gave back to the club and their pairs and lent a hand either on track or working with new riders (great to see the club sprit coming back to the sport).

Looking around the pits yesterday it seemed the VMCC had hit the mark with the series overall (admittedly - some things didn't work but...)..
Lots of happy riders - plenty of great hard racing all season (despite the interesting weather) and great to see a good turnout last night at prize giving.
Encouraging for the committee, was the increase in new riders: both juniors and seniors.
And a number of returning riders.

If you have feedback (suggestions etc.) - send it through to race@vicclub.co.nz and there will be some debrief notes coming out over the little bit.

    What a Series!
Congratulations go to all competitors and volunteers, you all have done very well in this new look series. I know many don't like change, but we did and it appears you all had a great time.

As I said at Prize Giving last night we are keen to hear your feedback. I am starting up a Lessons Learnt document so we can improve for next year. So if you have anything constructive to comment, as bert said, please e-mail your thoughts to race@vicclub.co.nz

    Cheers Aaron (VMCC Race Co-ordinator).

It sounds like you have all re built the wheel, well done to all involved. The Vic club has always been my favourite in the NTH Island over the years, always was a healthy crew to be involved with. I will hold my hand up and offer you my services in 2016 when I am in the country to work with development riders, if you would like my input. You know how to contact if if if.

    Thanks Shaun.
Our development riders are a little spoilt for coaches at the moment. However, our expertise would be welcome on those of us that have graduated from there and still have no clue about bike set-up etc.... So, I guess you could say we are post graduate riders

It appears we must have done a fantastic job of the series as there is not one single complaint sent to the race inbox.
Spooky really.... This isn't the only place where we have requested feedback either.

There is a committee debrief happening Saturday week, so we can fine tune everything for next year.
So, please for those that entered let us know your thoughts.

Okay, we (VMCC Committee) are having a Lessons Learnt meeting on Saturday.
So far the number of e-mails regarding your thoughts on how the series went that have come into the Race Inbox is ZERO!

So, I guess we did pretty well in your eyes?

I know we made a few mistakes, but it would be nice to hear of constructive stuff that we could do better from a Riders point of view.

    Cheers

Dam typical dude. Riders sit around and winge there asses off, then do fukin nothing to help, always has been the same problem in this country in my 25 odd years of involvement in the sport. Take on Barbara letts stance. NOW LISTEN HERE CUNTS! She was an awsome race event boss.

To add to this though, there are jack shit racers on this site any longer, and there still is no Racers only sign in site, for communication and growth of our sport in 2015? mmmm. The races them selves are stupid, they/we OWN mnz, yet do jack shit re suggestions on how to guide and grow it. And it will only get worse with the new kiwi youth coming through, not better.

    It's all good Shaun.
Yes I realise that not too many log in there to have a look anymore as everybody is on Faceache, including my post.

I guess I am a little institutionalised when it comes on dealing with the youth of today. Most of them are actually great, but then they have been very carefully selected for their jobs (Can't even call it a career anymore sadly, as it really isn't).

For the future we are revamping the Website for the Vic Club to give it more functionality and hopefully that will be the first port of call.
Not everybody is on Facebook, not everybody is on KB, not everybody listens to the radio and not everybody reads their e-mails... We don't even use Twitter...

One thing many racers do is go to motorcycle shops and race events.... So we will be putting a bit of effort into advertising there.

As for getting people to communicate to us, well it only works when you do something they really don't like

So, I am guessing they really like the way it all went for this series.

Maybe the first target is to get everyone on the same site quickbuck ???
I haven't tried too hard but apart from NZSBK and PRO TWIN wwhich seem to have bugger all followers ??/.Where is everyone on this facebook thingy ??
It's not hard to form the opinion road racing is still in decline apart from little pockets of keen racers ?
If you're like me (an old retired/tired fella) you tend to just flag it and stick with all the World Series races.

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

Yup, The same site is the goal. One stop shop, first port of call.. .and all the other cliches.

Facebook page is VICTORIA MOTORCYCLE CLUB INC (can't link it as FB isn't working at work at the moment.... yes, I am on a break).

The opinion formed could be the way it is looked at... Yes we are struggling a little for numbers, but those that are partaking are throwing quite a bit of money into their toys to enjoy.
We are activly getting new racers into the sport and the Club as got at least 6 new faces in this year.... Actually, I think it is closer to 10.
That is about 10% of the field.

Fair enough that you flag it all and watch it on the box, however did you realise that all the Vic Club events are streamed live onto your computer (and other devices) on race day via CTAS?
Some "Grass Roots" entertainment going on for sure.

There needs to be a RACERS only site. To coelate ? all posts and comments from the public/fans as well, would be a dam full time job. Just look at all the shit that is said on here day in day out. It is only the sidecar boys having fun on here these days really. Racers only site or page, Real name and MNZ Licence number reqd to post, so the poster is accountable, not like this place where all pretend to be some one or some thing they are not, and attack people and things, but are not men enough to post there real names. The pro twins site and NZSBK are just a joke also really.

Thanks , yep do the CTAS thing.
Not so much the Vic club racing anymore even tho I realise its still going on.
I have fifty odd years of bike riding behind me so I went thru the Shell Two Wheeler race meets of the seventies. The very start of the Vic Club meetings.
Thru the mid 2006 -2008 things were going pretty strong and even I had a little lash again.
Maybe the baby boomers drifting away was some of the sag ?
Good you have young people willing to spend the shedloads of dollars you need nowdays. We were spoilt and at the time didn't realise it.

I try to keep in touch but the splintering of groups makes it harder to follow NZ racing. Shaun, in the next post may have the idea ?

ps still don't know where on facebook everyone hangs,or doesn't hang.

Maybe its just too hard , I have regular sites I get news and comments on and also get info from overseas friends via E mail. I drifted into that quite easily. I've been travelling over ten years now to GPs.

It simply comes down to riders apathy man, just like politicians. Complain after the horse has bolted, but suggest nothing in the first place

Hi Aaron, just picked up the last few comments on this thread from Shaun and Roogazza and yourself, the "Vic Club" MUST MUST get there website up and running properly, its a priority for the members of the Clubs racing community, to be informed, and as Shaun says we need a 'Racers Forum" on it to discuss feed back and ideas from the members to how the club should progress, i dont think any other NZ Motorcycle racing Club Website has a Forum for members to have an open discussion.
I also have noticed a huge drop off of Racers on the Racing Thread of KB disappear, this was one place l always frequented and also used the Vic Club site for information on race events articals and racing info, (as i am not a facebook user).
On another note l Administrate the Kapiti Ulysses Branch Website and have found we have now got a successful tool to get all our information out to our members, l have set it up simalar to KB where all motorcycling information is at members finger tips, forums, events etc with that our Branch is continually growing. We use Proboards.com which is free for anyone to set up a Website, and very user friendly.
A new Website for the Vic Club has to be number one Priority.
