On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

There's always been a very strong motorsports following in Nelson. Local Businesses still remember the big tourist/holiday dollars created by the annual beach racing at xmas. I'd heard there was a lot of Mountain bike trails going in with an eye to adventure tourism, this is just the next level. I'm not sure if the drag strip at Rabbit island is still in use but again, a lot of drag race interest in the area.
Basically, it looks like another Timaru where a strong local motorsports community backed by local businesses seeing money coming in got together and built Levels. Done right, it works.

...reading something into a news report is one thing...the reality of this coming to something is another...it would be good...I spent some time with a man who has been one of the pushers for this plan since it's inception, not that long ago...there are so many stipulations on any part of the plan that he said, 'don't hold your breath'...

    Actually... Bloody good point.

First I thought Na... But then, it would be a close run thing after thinking about it.
If you got off the Ferry smartly then you would be there before the Christchurch racers quite easily...

6 Hours from ChCh - if you travel at legal speeds. And a lot of the road you'd use ain't that fast anyway.
