    Car window washers

We saw the first one of these we have come across yesterday as we left Whangarei heading home. Waved him no, and he left us alone. All good.

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=11445063

"He said the income was not great, and he would take any job paying at least $23 an hour, but it was enough to put food on the table."

$23 an hour is pretty good money for unskilled work, given the minimum wage is $14.75 per hour.

    Wonder if he pays tax?

Whatever, he would have taken it straight to his dealers house instead of home.

Its all good, I feed his kids at school.

I got attacked by an angry window washer the other day - in Otematata for goodness sake!

I was trying to read my paper and she was getting in the way making shadows that made reading difficult!

Yeah. IRD needs to clamp down on this as Google, Facebook and the others are far too hard as they are lawyered up

The last window washer that wouldn't take no for an answer was pretty quick to leap out of the way when I nudged the car forward. He can't have had much weed at that stage.

I realised afterwards that I could have seriously hurt him and I felt bad. But not for long.

I think they've been by-lawed off that patch now.

MOM $23 bucks aint bad At least they are out there doing something for their $$$

On the other hand I never get mine done? I dont want the handwash they get outa the local public toilet and mix up spread all over my screen.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Yeah this. I wouldn't mind actually if they did a decent job, but it usually makes it worse. Even more annoying when you've just done it yourself at a "service" station.

20 job applications in 8 years sure is an outrageous expectation.

As an after tax/ untaxed rate it's well above average in plenty of industries. I doubt he's doing anything like 40 hours a week.

Well, good on him I say. As I said earlier I'm not in the market for his skills and would be unlikely to use his service. As long as he isn't using stand-over tactics like some of them do, I kind of admire his entrepreneurial spirit, if he would rather do that than join the regular workforce I don't blame him.

Was on the bike at a big intersection a couple of weeks ago and one offered to wash my visor for me. I declined and rode off laughing.
