When you lose a dog like that the common practice is to leave an owners article like a Swanny at the last place you were together!

Go back the next morning and the dog will usually be there sitting on it! - Old pig hunting practice.

Hard to believe that after all the training and money that goes into these dogs that a gps collar was over looked.

Dog had a walk and everyone looses their shit....

Its not like we live in a country that has wild apex predators that could take on a police dog...

(but yes I am glad he is fine, just don't think this qualifies as 'news')

If it were well trained, why would it need a GPS collar

Awesome that the dog was found, and equally awesome that it was the dog handler that did the finding.

Nice to see some good news on the 'news' for a change.

Are you saying they're going to attach a full blown Garmin to the dogs collar so he can pull it off along with his iDog phone and call in his co-ords?
No doubt when he's back home in the kennel he's doing your tax returns to keep himself busy.

Probably got sick of playing the 'peanut butter' game, and took his chance, but the hunger pains grew too strong.
