My wife and I decided to get a GoPro camera to go travelling with. I did my research and found the model I want - GoPro Hero 4 Silver. I was on the Harvey Norman website last night at about 10pm and saw this exact one on special - $20 off and comes with a free back of sticky mounts (alleged value $39). So I went in the store a couple of blocks from work today, and the price was back to standard retail ($600) and the deal has ended.
I said to the salesman "would you do me the deal you were doing yesterday".
"No sorry can't do it" he responded. I asked him if he would rather do me the same deal I saw on the website 12 hours earlier, or if he'd rather I walked out empty handed. He literally said he would rather I didn't buy anything at all. So I didn't.
I don't get it - this deal was good enough yesterday, and it's the same stock as they has yesterday. But he complete unwillingness to budge means I'll keep my eyes open (no urgency on this purchase).
Salespeople in this country are such utter retards. I guess that goes some way to explain why he was a 60 year old selling cameras for an Australian department store.
