    Pies

So i have recently discovered the beef and bacon pie at the local pie shop.
I must say it is quite a pie .... the bakery around the corner from home also does a mean butter chicken pie.
This got me thinking ... what is the best pie?

I could have voted for more than one in that lot...but had to opt for steak and mushroom. Honourable mentions to steak and onion and also to steak and kidney, had it been there.
In all cases, IF it is well made...

    Thumbs up

Another vote for the steak and kidney pie.

Best pie is homemade straight out of the oven with mashed rua spud and lots of worcester sauce - nuthin beats all that crispy pastry covered in worsey sauce with a big mountain of mashed spud. Damn that made my tongue hang out...

Whadya mean you don't know about a mutton pie? McGreggors in Palmerston (by Dunedin) was my favourite haunt but I can't get them here in AK. Round pie with awesome crust and pastry and a spicey minced mutton... Bloody delicious.
My local bakery in Pakuranga does a nice steak and cracked pepper... but it's not a McGreggors mutton pie!
