Got to be careful with your bungies. The warehouse have in the past sold sub-par ones. As above the loop metal is like a limp dick.

Placemakers and Bunnings carry a good range.

Ha ha ha. No fucking shit.

Buy something from the Warehouse that you actually rely on? Fuck off. I wouldn't buy a cup with any expectation that the the handle would be on it in two weeks time. The stuff is shit and priced accordingly. Great for crap like $2 jandals but if my weekend attire is going to be bungied to the back seat I am not going to trust a two for $4.99 deal from the Warehouse. You get what you pay for. A locked back wheel and a burning smell is not one of them.

OP was using them for a boat cover, so warehouse shit is fit for purpose.

Absolutely right about using something decent for bikes though, I got some Rok Straps from 'murkah and they are fantastic.

Yeah - I was going to take that option - I have heaps of hooks around from bungee cords that have broken in the past ...

seen a few bikes with bags, bungees, sleeping bags or other shit that was strapped down by a bungee stuck in the back wheel following the failure of some perished rubber bungee
I don't use them on the bikes any more - they mainly hold down the cover on my boat - but being out in the sun rots them quickly ..

They are supposed to contain stretchy rubber - not 'merikan iron ...

That's why I don't use them on bikes .. I've never dropped anything into a wheel, but I have had stuff slide sideways in a threatening way ... I use a cargo net if I need to load more than I can put in a Ventura Bag - which rarely happens .. travel light travel fast ..

"On 27/05/15 you placed an order with The Warehouse (order number: 01924373). Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to fulfil your order, and will therefore refund the cost of the product(s).

    2 x Bungee Cord 6 Piece Set"

i use the warehouse ones all the time. they are not the best but do the job - i tend to use more then i need to but then have spares when everyone else need them.....

You can always go to Mega10 and buy bungee by the metre and make up your own stuff...
