I've been a mod on a community with toxic members.

Somehow we lost all the toxic members... and despite a community of around 100 members I made about as much mates who I keep in touch with there as I have here.

Long story short, the mods here are fucking abysmal. I'd disagree with maha about the hows though, RnR is fine, it is letting that shit spill over into all over sections (especially the mech ones) that I think put people off.

Not this part of it, obviously.

But the mech section, we should do. Or do you have something against riders doing their own maintenance?

Why does the whole site have to descend into a steaming pile of juvenile shit, can't it just be confined to RnR?

What's the fuck with the irrationality?

When have I discouraged talk in the mechanics section?

Would you like me to be a moderator in the mechanics section?

    I'd trim it by 80%.

    (And that's being generous).

Mech section used to be a drivel free zone and was much better for it

That's probably back to what it would have used to be

The impression you gave was that you did not agree with my post suggesting mech section should be drivel free.

If you think it should be drivel free, then by all means I support your application to moderate such a section.

Drivalization has taken over really.....but post a non motorcycle item in the general section and woe betide you Molly Woppy.

Non motorcycle owning types should not be able to post in the main forum until they post a picture of themselves with todays paper by said bike

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

That's because the Technical forum rules used to be enforced

Fair enough - I don't post much in the other sections, so wouldn't notice....

Once upon a time they (mods) kept a lid on most of the ego driven pissing comps & curbed most of the hissy fits that boiled up; the wee tantrums that ensued probably weren't worth the headache..... why try dealing with egomaniacs that act like spoilt little brats....most loud mouths who jump on the soapbox eventually fall off
