    Wait, what?
How can you not have internet banking?
Have you never purchased from Trade Me?
Talk to your bank and get onto that shit, pronto!

I've been sorting out my camping gear and getting some new stuff to make sleeping more comfortable.
    I've purchased my ticket.
I've arranged to take 3 days off work - only need Friday off work but fuck it, a couple of extra days off will be nice!
I'm good to go and totally looking forward to it!

My wife works for Kiwi Bank and she doesn't want net banking.
She is happy to manually deposit tardme stuff.
I find most stuff unless its private sales can be purchased with paypal or paynow or visa.

    Started loading luggage etc.
The guy I bought the tankbag off still hasn't got the thing to me.
4 weeks since I bided and 2 weeks since I won it.
That's becoming frustrating as im not sure if his busa ring will fit the bandit yet as the design changed on the busa in 2008 and his bike was first registered 2008. Im hoping his was a 2007 model. Maybe I can fill and redrill the mount if I need to.

It was an interesting new site. But afterwards the organisors said via FB that no one was supposed to be camping at the top of those hills like in picture. That put me off wanting to go back for the 40th not that I go to rallys often anyway, I need time to forget how uncomfortable sleeping on rocks is lol.

I wonder if falling patronage is also due to bikers not visiting bike shops very often. My first one was result of seeing the flyer in bike shop and asking whats all that about. The dude in shop made it sound irresistible and the first one in Snow by myself on an overloaded FZR250 was awesome at the old original site. Dude in question never packed a tent he just drank and slept wherever he passed out lol

Anyway my tips have a big feed in Waiouru just before you get there, good value at the truckstop diner.
Take a tent but don't plan on sleeping in it, think of it more as place to just lie down occasionally.
The wind will blow your tent over no matter how flash it is, so parka bike around the other side to tie it to.

Yeah that new drink drive limit will be trap for the unwary...

I'll wait till when there s a decent snow forecast to go again...

why did it put you off? pretty well the whole site has been re contoured now with new grass sewn, very few rocks around. In case you don't get it, the Cold Kiwi and Brass Monkey have an element of less comfort levels than your own home, that is what they're about....

so whakapapa have their forecast up now and it's for snow, it looks like the main rain will run through higher up the country than the rally site so i'd give it a 50/50 chance of snowing on the site this weekend.
as for falling patronage, it has maintained a steady number for the last few years, have you noticed there aren't as many bikes on the raod as there was years ago?

Oops, I'll keep quiet about the camping gear I'm taking then.

Forecast suggests showers, but I guess that my tent will keep me dry.
I'm still going because I'm not a little girlie wuss that gets put off by a little precipitation.
Light winds predicted, shouldn't be many tents blowing away.

I thought that the previous venue was better, but of course when the owners of the land are being dicks it really makes things impossible for the rally organisers. Better to have good land owners that don't fuck you about than a better venue but with dickheads to deal with.

rocks read hard ground, uneven gorund figure of speech of bare land vs real bed. No shit Sherlock about rallys/camping etc being diiferent to bed at home.... I can rough it when I need to/want to, its just another element in the decision making process of what I want to do with whole weekend of my time, about $200 worth of expenses and 500km worth of mileage on bike....
I've been to 4 cold kiwis and sadly there seems slightly less atmosphere/special feel to it each time but then face of motorcycling is changing too....

Bike’s passed a WOF. Weather forecast is improving. There’s a reasonable chance I’ll make it. I’ll have a beer with you bro.
