    Wanted: CAFE RACER PROJECT

    Hi Guys,

I am after a cafe racer project preferably a Yamaha SR400 or SR250 model in Christchurch. Could potentially travel around the south island for the right bike. If anyone could point me in the right direction for one or if anyone has one to sell that would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

Have you not looked on trade me? There are a massive numbers of half finished projects to choose from. If you really have to have a SR Yammy maybe not so many but...

The thing is, hardly anybody wants someone else's half arsed, half finished project, so they chase a half decent bike and half arse and half finish it themselves as a labour of love, and then try and sell it for what they think it owes them.
    Keep on chooglin'

I think that the Hondas respond best to chaps and a candle. They call it an afterburner.

Give you $6 and a bag of chips, I could put it in a classic sidecar

what do you do about the final drive? presumably it needs to be converted to chain? How hard is that to do?

I adore those XV1000 based customs but you have to have a TR1 for that reason: the 760s and 820s are shaft drive an you get stuck with those UGLY 80's Yamaha swirly wheels.

BMW didn't have any problem winning 14 world Sidecar championships in a row with shaft drive
