    XR250 oil level

    Hey,
Im new to this site, been looking around abit...great site.Does anyone have a site where you can download a manual for a 1990 xr250.Or if anyone knows how many litres of engine oil they take.I also would like information on reading the engine oil level,Do you screw the dipstick right in or do you just dunk it without screwing it in to read it correctly.
Sorry about my long post to start with
    thanks in advance

Check out the XR250/400 thread at http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/18-xr250400/

Feel free to ask questions as there are many knowledgeable fellas there & no doubt a link to a manual download.
Dunk don't screw & the bike should be run or ridden before hand...

I whould say just over the litre mark there not big crank cases just warm it up and sit the dip stick with the bike level no need to tighten it . id just drain the engine oil in a two ltre ice cream container

and check how far over the middle it goes etc 1tr for half way . i got a Honda xr 200 r engine am re building at the moment.
