3XL helmet with internal sun visor?

    Hi,

I recently tested the last 3XL helmet that I have found in Auckland with internal sun visor (that was Scorpion EXO500). It appeared too small. I am running out of options less then 500$ =(.

    Does anyone know a helmet:
    1. >=3XL sized (Shoe 3XL fits well, some cnell 2XL helmets fits as well)
    2. <500$ priced
    3. Sharp rating >=4
    4. with internal sun visor

A good helmet fit should feel tight, it isn't a hat. Have you checked out the youtube videos on helmet fit? I find most buy too big, myself included initially.

Yeah, checked. However Shoei 3XL seems to me slightly bigger of my size (but better then 2XL and doesn't move when I turn my head). HJCs 3XL usually fit well and tight. The head doesn't look like have a deformation, but I've tried around 50 helmets in different shops. 3XL is close to a start size.

As a long-standing (and grumpy) large headed rider (3XL), it is with no pleasure that I have to tell you that you have Fuck All Options.

Only two manufacturers make 3XLs that are available in New Zealand. Shoei and HJC. They come in any colour or graphic pattern you want, as long as that is black. On very rare occasions a graphic 3XL HJC may be spotted, but so too is rocking horse shit.

You will not find anything in this size with an internal sun visor. Your best option is a set of sunglasses or, if you must, a tinted visor.

HJC will probably meet your price threshold. Shoeis are about twice the price and about two models behind their latest styles for people with smaller heads. HJC also make a 4XL.

    Enjoy.

    Have you tried Nolan?

They seem pretty large to me

I'd normally use an XL helmet - but with the N104 I was finding the M tight but possible and the L a good fit

    Disclaimer - I actually bought a Bell

XL doesn't even start on the Large Head Spectrum. That size is a whole shell size smaller than a 3XL. To restate my earlier post, only Shoei and HJC make full-face helmets in the size range this thread started by talking about.

Hjc clsp for the win. Fg15 if you can lay your hands on one same helmet but hybrid fibre glass and polycarbonate. Wider fit but that may mean you can go down a size. Most 3xl heads wear a 2 in these models due to there being 4 shell sizes.

Thank you everyone. I have already started suspecting that world is cruel. Heh.
Might you know anything about external visors like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AGV-EXTERNAL...-/251568669770
Are there any universal or for HJC?

Crisis... I just had a look and HJC are no longer manufacturing CLSP or FG15s....
Very least I will have to go back to a shaved head when my current helmet retires...
Heres hoping somehthing else fills the void for the larger gent before then.

If it is external it will be noisy... especially when not engaged.
Tank bag / tinted visor works for me on the longer journeys... the rest of the time $5 sunglasses.

These claim to go up to 5xl.
NZ importers don't bring them in though.. possibly because they only meet dot not ece or sharp standard.
This could just be because the larger sizes were not submitted, but it could also be because the different mass makes it harder to meet the standard for side impact protection. The FG15 3xl and 4xl has a significantly lower rating with SHARP than the 2xl for example in side impact protection.

    SHARP isn't a standard. It's a rating "programme".
