    Bugle

Really long shot, but surely someone on here has been a member of a Bugle Band, or Boys Brigade Troup, and has a bugle hiding away in its case? Or knows someone who does/has? I play Last Post every Anzac Day on my cornet. That is all good, but I REALLY want to play it more authentically, and would love to play it on a bugle.

Before my usual fan club decide to chime in on this, can I please refer them to http://metro.co.uk/2015/07/21/men-wh...ience-5305795/

For anyone else, could you please ask around for me.

    Fanks.

Thank you. Funniest thing about this is, I want an old one. A dented one, one that has a bit of history. The older the better.

These brand new, shiney bits of metal have no soul. My silver cornet brings more respect to the Last Post than they ever could. Honestly. I really want an old one.

    Appreciate the TM link though.

    Really?

I would say your cornet brings nothing to the Last Post other than the notes it plays.

(Unless, of course, I've got it wrong and it's actually just all about you).

You should tell us again how proud playing the Last Post makes you feel.

For someone who used to jump at the opportunity to stab me with your forked tongue, your sudden preciousness is highly amusing.

You probably won't be missed though.

You don't think you'll come to miss the miserable cunt?

    I miss tags, anyway...

If they are missing him, I suggest a larger calibre with a telescopic sight or just keep aiming at his head.

As someone who has been a Musician for many years (Percussion is my Forte)

    No.

For the Love of God, no.

I will expand upon my comment: If I were in a position to play the last post, I would make sure that I did my best performance, to honour those that died, I would want to use the best possible equipment to ensure I could give my best performance. I feel that to deliberately use something just because it is old (unless it was one that was actually carried in the war) would be ostentatious, and would be drawing attention away from where it belongs: Reflecting on the Fallen.

Finally as for Soul - unless you are a top notch Bugle player (and I mean this with no disrespect) then you are unlikely to be able to release said Soul. Even a Stradivarious would sound horrible in the hands of a learner.
