Facebook and Twitter

Having said that, there's several people on my friends list who are hidden from my news feed, due to their propensity for posting screeds of annoying nonsense - silly pictures, "repost this" crap, etc etc. I can still visit their pages and send them messages when I want.

I've never used Twitter and have no real interest in starting.
With Facebook I have only 21 friends and I wonder at anyone having hundreds, let alone thousands. If you tell me you have thousands of friends I immediately think "no you don't".
I don't mind Facebook, it improves when you realise you can 'unfollow' anyone, which I have done with a few people.
As Virago says here, people posting up shit non-stop quickly gets old, but it is easy to stop following them so their stream of crap doesn't show on your news feed.

I do like that I can follow some special interest groups which gives me access to some information that would be otherwise hard to find.

Actually I had to get away from Falsebook, spent far too long on the phone ordering these for people with acute whine disorder, status denial and general butt hurt

At least you can be an arsehole on KB and enjoy it
