Yes but... Nup. Not for the roads around here. TDR with decent suspension, pipe, brakes and tires. Ning ning for the win.
Having said that, I would love a good fang on a TRX. The 850 motor sounds grouse with, er, less restrictive pipes. And I'm sure they are more agile than the TDM.
With regard to the retro Yammie in question, how does it ride? By all accounts the motor is a peach. I think Yamaha are going down the Ducati/Triumph road and lining up a lot of variants around the triple and twin. The MT07 Tracer is tickling my fancy. Niche market retro exercises considerably less so.

Well the Guzzi is "real retro" it's true, and that extends to the preformance figures.
The MT-07 engine makes fully 50% more ponies than the Guzzi. (I'm referring to the real thing, not the LAMS version of the Yamaha sold here.) So while it may not be the fastest thing around it should be in a different class to the Guzzi.
If it is imported here I suppose we could all go and test ride both bikes and reinforce our prejudices.![]()

Prejudices....none of that round here, I know what the Guzzi retros look like but no idea what a MT-07 is, the Yamaha above made my eyes hurt.
Power.... I don't need it. The 72 BMW track bike puts out about 65 BHP and is good for over 200 kmph, for road use I have a 70 HP 900ss and all that V twin ( L twin) goodness.![]()

The Yamah MT-07 is the model from which that retro variant was sourced. BIKE magazine had the MT-07 as BOTY; it was fun, frugal, and was priced so keenly the competition had to lower their prices. We get a smaller engined LAMS version but the original makes 75bhp. The Guzzi makes 50.
I too might be able to live with 75 horses in a light enough package, but 50 seems just one stop short of an Indian Enfield and that's just too retro thanks.

Depends what you want really, I'm more into mid range stomp up to about 160 kmph.
My 750 Norton Commando has about 50 HP and only a 4 speed gearbox but the torque is impressive, especially in a bike that weighs in at
about 175 kgs and feels like a 250 to ride.
I haven't ridden a 750 Guzzi but I'd imagine with a V twin it would be very similar.

Retro or brand new design. I just like top gear grunt from around 70-130kph. If I had a bike capable of over 200kph I would never get to those speeds and retro was never about top end speed.
