Also, as for hairyshirted manly-men... I wonder how many people are taking the piss out of Vladimir Putin at the moment? This sort of thing is right up his alley.

I noticed those teeth too, it was hard not to. I guess that's what happens if you have an unlimited supply of whitener and an excess of vanity?

Ethical hunting as a sport is fine I have no problem with that. Too much hunting these days is decadent; a trophy stag is captured and put in a paddock and some turkey pays big bucks to go into the paddock and "hunt" it. I've always understood that sort of thing was illegal in this country but it would seem that it is happening.

Perhaps the Government don't have a problem with law-breaking as long as it brings in the cash.

Big fucking deal. Lots of people dying in Zimbabwe from hunger every month , one cat is the least of their problems. Walter Palmer did nothing wrong; he paid somebody 50k to shoot a lion, so that's what he did. Not his problem that the guy let him shoot the wrong one.

You can see the glorification of hunting every week on New Zealand television. A nice little hour of watching animals being tortured by being bludgeoned by hunting equipment, and taken out of their environment in what surely must be the most distressing thing that could happen to them. Personally, I have no problem with that, butchering animals for sport is quite obivously a way of life for huge amount of New Zealanders.

More than a million cunts probably bitched about this, but I doubt any of them actually did, or plan to do, anything of any consequence that might improve the lot of the big cats in Africa.

Facebook activism, nothing more. Lion was lucky he had a name, or he wouldn't have even got that much.

Fuck off. I bought fair trade tea bags once so I'm pretty sure I'm covered as having participated in saving any part of the planet through that.

It's like those idiots going over to Asia and getting riled up about the way they treat Elephants, never mind the race horses and greyhounds at home

Putin would've taken Cecil with his bare hands. (according to the Russian media).

    Fish deserve everything they get.

Oh but it's the fight and the thrill of the hunt. I had a similar hunt and chase with my neighbours dog.. had to drag it behind my car for two kms before I had tired it enough to hold it by the tail and nose in a beautifully posed photo. Nobody gave me a TV show though

Cori Gonzalez-Macuer said it right, on 7-Days last week.

    Yes its the systems fault

Again, the guy is a fuckwit. Wonder if he has pictures of his kills in his waiting room? Doubt it.

It is quite interesting that, so far, we haven't heard anything from the Zebras. I bet they are quite pleased about this.
