Golf carts on the road or footpath.

What is the legal status of a golf cart using the road or footpath? Just curious.

Big nopes all around legally speaking unfortunately.

My dad had a few mates who had road registered quads to nip (road) to the course on, but not all golf courses allow those, and they're also getting harder to get on the road I'm told.

If you're pretty close and already have a golf cart I'd give it a nudge during daylight hours, if the road is such that you can easily stay out of the way.

A few use them as a mode of transport around here, holiday home owners mainly but several locals also, one even uses a ride-on mower.

When I lived in Twizel we had a guy who had a wee bike ( I want to say CT90) which he'd ride to the course, hook up his clubs to the back of on a hook of some sort, ride around his 18 holes, spend a couple of hours at the bar and then ride home.

I got pissed off with him one day for abusing my playing partner so I rammed a pototo up his exhaust pipe. (I mean ... lighten up dude ... he missed you by at least a metre)

There are enough slow vehicles and other moving chicanes on our roads .. golf carts should stay on the golf course ..

Bought some Golf Clubs a couple of weeks ago, no trundler and can't afford a Golf Cart but I do have a sack barrow and bungees, that'll do. I can go on the road and the footpath.
