Try those who have a clue and know that unless you truly know what you are doing it's more likely to end in tears than smiles. the truth is that most knee down cowboys come unstuck on the road and often end up under something.

On a race circuit yes.
On the road, once or twice, learned very quickly it was not a good idea, too many variables, not to mention what might already be on your side and here you are swung way out the other way with No Chance of getting out of the way.

Personally I think hanging off the bike to try and achieve touchdown at lower speeds leaves a bike upright and uneven road surfaces combined with a very off centre load can turn poo quick.
Track surface tends to be smoother and suspension on most track bikes well sorted plus tyres are normally running good temperatures and sports orientated. Oil spills are normally powdered and riders learn the track and the grip as they go.

Having done a few years on the track in the past I found myself riding safer on the road. Might be the effect of sliding along no longer attached to a bike a couple of times.
I am also no saint. I did my share of dumb things and took risks when I was younger so I am proof a percentage survive without crashing but a fair few of my mates crashed.

If you really want to get a bike over and push the limits the best thing is a track bike. Some cost less than one road crash repair. Lots of F3 and pre89 bikes out there also so you can do some races as well if you choose to.

Thought touching down in T6 and 1 at HD was the dogs gonads before crashing out in the next session lol (note to self don't wind on the throttle 5% mid corner on warm(ish) tyres). Scraping knees is the last thing I'd be doing on the Coro loop and such like. For a start, if something goes wrong there's no run off and then there's always the furniture.
