Don't worry, they say it's much better for you
Actually, I've noticed when I access googlemaps at work it gives me 'distance from home' even though it's a different google account. Probably just because I've traced routes to my address so often perhaps.
Mrs Oakie has a regular thing she goes to on a Monday evening and without her doing anything, googlemapa pops up on Monday afternoon to remind her of the route.

It's because you would have been signed into a Google account while doing your searches (Google Mail, Adwords, etc). Ditto at home.

If you sign out and then do your search it wont remember it.

This is part of the Google now feature. It can look at your calendar and if it knows the destination, cross reference it's traffic data with your route options and then advise that you must leave by a certain time. So no, not scary at all

You can enable stuff like voice search and if you're on the move it automatically suggests you want to go there from your current location and with very few presses routing starts...

Not necessarily true. They do some funky stuff around geolocation. If someone at the same external ip address finds value in going to a specific website it will rank higher in another user on the same network connecting.

Example: if I do lots of research on SQL at my house and then my wife using a pc that I have never logged into types Sq into the browser it starts autofilling with queries about SQL. Even if she types squeal.

It judges value on things like how much of the page did you read and which one was the last one you read.

Try it. Do a bunch of image searches that contain cosplay in your string, open a few pics of hot girls.
Go to another pc on the same router that you have never logged into anything Google. Most of your image results will now have got girls in costumes near the top even if the words cosplay girl and hot are not in your search.

    Spooky.
Now if you named your wife on Facebook and she confirmed your relationship and she lists her address but you never have? That's right open your phone Google map to home. Guess where it tells you to go?

I know you can opt out of this shit but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to follow googles instructions for opting out.

Yup I've noticed this a lot more using Googles DNS even though Google say they don't use DNS results for actively pushing adverts at you.

If you have been doing searches while you or someone else has been signed into a Google account that entire search history is stored online.

Not whinging. I think it's hilarious how people go on and on about rights to privacy and then go ahead and share the most intimate details of their lives on line expecting it to remain private.

To test if this really is happening:

    do the following Google Search:

"How to get Kinky Threesome with Wife"

If when you get home, your possessions are neatly packed outside the front door, then I suspect it is due to you being signed in with the same google account on both devices.

If when you get home your wife is waiting for you with a bit of Crumpet then you are welcome.
