The same shit has been happening since creatures walked/slithered/swam on Earth.

Religion is only part of it. There's massive differences in cultural (Arabs / non Arabs) and political beliefs in the region. Neighbour Head of States especially the ruling Saudi's would be concerned about destabilising effects of mass importation (potential radicals...).

All of the Muslim secular groups ... are as varied in their beliefs and policy ... as all the Christian secular groups.

The ruling party's in those countries do not always agree with THEIR views ... and often go to great lengths to remove the problem.
