Exhaust packing

Looking for some new packing to repack the DG O on the DR650.
Previously used the 15inch BigGun repack pillow kit from USA but not sold here and cant justify shipping cost just for that at moment.
Anyone recommend similar in NZ or best brands, material to buy. I see T7 has some really cheap stuff but....

Red Baron normally have at least on pack of either fmf or drc in stock.

Depends how good a job you plan on doing, but. Dissasemble the whole lot and strip out all the old shit, wrap the perf tube in a steel wool, then lock wire to secure, exhaust mat over the top of that, more steel wire; then assemble and punch down the loose batting to fill any gaps; then chuck on the cap and you're done. Not too loose, and not too tight mind.

Local shop should have all the parts you need.

I like to take to mine 'down there' with a angle grinder and finish off with a fine grit buff.

Bad advice. That shit will blow out in no time. It is not designed for exhaust heat or gas pressure.

That silent wool stuff was popular for a while, sort of like lots of string fibres. Tested it for noise reduction and stopped using it. I buy Daytona packs of wrap now.
