I believed heroine to be a synthetic. Just looked it up, one of the ingredients is indeed morphine.
A semi synthetic of opium.
An extract of a poppy.
So I guess what I have learned today is I know little about drugs and heroin while not natural is not a synthetic as I had been led to believe.

Not natural? Yeah it is - diamorphine.. & the basic opium poppy is commercially grown in Tazzie..

Thinking of methadone perhaps? That narcotic was synthethised by Nazi scientists when the plant product was embargoed..

Aspirin is good.. taken regularly.. it has a number of worthwhile qualities.. look it up on google scholar.

I didn't, but then again I didn't feel I needed to either, as we were discussing opiates. Codeine was the first synthesized opiate though. 1830. A hundred years prior to methadone.

But, yeah..

Codeine may be fully synthesised these days.. depends on cost.. but def' wasn't - back in ~1830..
