Migration issue at an airport in NZ

So what more can be given back to these tribes, that claim to be Maori, Not a full blood strain Maori left in the country. They are just ripping fellow New Zealand citizens off, using the old high moral ground as there tool, and there actions are deffinately insighting prejudice back into NZ again, just like in the days of the Black power and scum Mongrel mob.

The brotestors are merely establishing their traditional right to fly on the back of a Moa and land on a pre-determined piece of flat, straight land which has illumination and Air Traffic Control systems in place.

Who gives a fuck about an airport in an area where you will only find a bunch of niggers not much different to the ones occupying the airport.
Im sure closing the airport will be excellent for the locals & the area's economy.
Remember the stink everyone kicked up when Air NZ decided to stop servicing a few domestic routes recently.
Id just leave them too it & see how it all works out for them.
Theres a fuckin huge ex WW2 grass strip about the size of Auckland international just up the road anyway.

It seems 'our people' aren't all inclusive when it comes to sharing with their own... reading the article it seems that is the issue is that the two tribes have to share the land/settlement deal.
Only in NZ could you occupy an airport, light fires, sieze a fuel truck as part of political demands and not be called terrorists....
Can you imagine this happening in the states... they'd be a couple of A-10s strafing the place about 5mins after first 911 call. I bet Obamas on the phone to Keys offering to send a carrier battle group over to disperse them....

I'm all for settling greivances and many tribes got bad deal under the original treaty or weren't signatories to it but this type of action accomplishes nothing for them and only scares away investors that might bring new jobs and industry to the region.

Careful what you wish for - JK would do anything to piss in Obama's pocket - who needs enemies with a friend like USA government? - (911 or 9/11?)

Bang on man, it is just pure greed. Perhaps we ask these tribes for some money back to feed all there tribe members in Prison living off KIWI Money - Fuk, look at the crime rate of the wealthiest tribe in the country, just a joke and nothing more. They are an embarrasment to the true Maori of years gone by.

You may find out that it is actually that piece of land that is in question. Apparantly the NZ Government requisitioned the hapu's land in the 1940s to build an aerodrome for use during the war and promised it back at the end of the war. It was never returned and my understanding is that while it is subject to the current settlement, half the land is being vested in a neighbouring hapu who never owned the land in the first place. If that is a true summary of the facts then I can see why the local hapu are a bit tetchy. No way do I support the action they've taken but I can understand their passion. (Oh, I'm as white as a snowlflake incidentally).
