Givi Flow e350 top speeds?

A lot of the givi top boxes say that they are not suitable for highway speeds.
Does anyone know why this is? Are they going to fall off or is it more of a stability thing for the bike?
I am keen on getting one for my bike but most of my riding is motorway or back roads and not commuting.
Has anyone added one of them without any issues doing a faster speed than a scooter?

Depends what's in it and how it's mounted.
I will do 230 if I'm just carrying one of my chickens around in it but only about 190 if we have several bags of cement on board as well.

It will just be a 'get out of jail free' line for them so people don't just bungee them on and then sue for damages when it comes off and scones a pedestrian. Mount it properly and you will probably be able to pick up your bike from it

Monolock (which is the range that case is part of) is generally for smaller cases designed for scooters. Hence probably the speed restrictions. It has a different mounting system than Monokey.

Monokey is the top range system... yes, ahem, I might have proven that some don't fall off at 250 uh... cents.

Correct. The Monolock means you have to work your own way of mounting it. if to a Ventura system then sooner or later it will break.

On my old Bandit 1200, i blew a Chinese top box at speed. My current Monokey 55l box and rack system held the Bandit 1200 up while sliding down the road. And now its doing duty on my current bike. Tough.

My '06 Katana has E55 plus bags on permanently. I commute Tuakau to Auckland CBD most days and sometimes down to Hamilton (one day last week I did both). Add to that all manner of ks on weekends (with Givis on). The only problem I've had in about 150,000km is that one of the welds in one of the mounting brackets broke. No damage to top box (it stayed on) and no drama to replace (used cable ties for a few weeks and all good).

Edit: After reading the rest of the thread I thought I should mention that mine are the Monokey system, not Monolock.

Had a E350 Flow on My R1200GS for years , base plate warn after about 7 years must of been the overloading from the bottle store. Only tested up to 200 no problems. Still use the same top box on My X-Gallenge every day. Can carry a lot more than 3kgs.

Have You bought a top box yet I might have one coming up ! I just got another Monokey box to keep 3 of my bike with the same system.
