    Post HUD Development + Thanks

    Hi guys/gals,

My name is Gary and I'm a creative technologist and specialist in Mechatronics. Firstly, I want to say a BIG thanks to those that participated in my previous survey for my uni project. The significant response has encouraged me to take the idea further where my team and I have begun to build and prototype a helmet mounted HUD (head-up display). I am now seeking alpha and beta testers whose feedback on feature preferences through periodic surveys, will help me design a prototype for road testing and a go-to-market strategy. If you are keen to see a product that will transform your ride experience then please complete this survey! Won't take long

    https://eSurv.org?u=HUDSurvey

Here's a quick outline of our concept:
A holographic display fitted to your visor that will provide real time information of your ride without cluttering your vision. The way the HUD works is that it will display information that is provided wirelessly from your smartphone.

Also, like I promised before here are some quick stats on what I found out about you guys last time.

56% of people who did the survey were interested in an auto SOS emergency indication/localisation. This number could have been caused by the high accident rate of 60% of the survey participants. 84% of the participants have or use smart phones, where 78% of these people actively use their phone on rides. The age distribution is relatively even. Participants aged 25-39 had a the highest usage of 25%.

    Ranking of Importance by participants:
    1) Safety
    2) Performance/Power of Bike
    3) Aesthetics (Power ragers)

Thanks again for doing the survey last time!

Here is the link again to the new survey to where you can register your interest at the end.

    Cheers!

    Done.

I love the idea of a HUD so long as you can easily flick it off or make is very opaque when you wish, and also not reliant on having your visor fully shut (as in if you crack is everything moves up. Would be cool if it reposition lower and lower until fully opened)

If the "screen" is on the lower part of the visor, it probably obscures the dashboasrd - which means you might as well look at the dashboard and have less technology to fuck up ..

We are looking at attaching the HUD to the visor, where it will be positioned at the top. This is still early days for us so any suggestions are welcome.

Survey will give us more insights on individual preferences.

I'll also add the different OS for the phones to the survey.

p.s will include F-35 overlay just for you.

    "Overlay"?
I want the fully capable version. Ability to see through solid objects, etc.

Hope it is not out-of-the-box prism-projector from Taiwan + wifi receiver. Would be really sad to see just another expensive competitor.

Negative - We are looking into New Technology I can't really discuss without you signing and NDA :/

Skully are using prism based projections - I don't think they are going to do so well.
