Sorry, must have read you wrong - don't worry - everything will work out OK! - if we loose it will be because we deserved to!

We only played as well as the Georgians would let us - sort of like a team of fox terriers playing a team of Staffordshire bull-terriers - they are tough bastards!

I seem to recall that in 2007 they didn't even have the good grace to wait that long, they did it in the quarter final. After how the All Blacks have been playing, I'd be very nervous about playing France in the quarters.

It'd be a shame if they get bowled in the quarter finals because we'll never get to see Steve Hansen's master plan in operation. The one that he said he's been keeping under wraps until the knock out stage.

A more simple plan might help. Like fr'instance, the players could catch the fuckin' ball.

While I'd love NZ to win the tournament I can't help but think that Aussie might take it out this time...

Well - it has been 16 years since they last held the cup....

TBH - apart from the obvious reasons - I don't want the ABs to win because no Team has won back-to-back World Cups. In fact there are only 2 teams that have gone on to defend the consecutive world cup in a final (Aussie - won '99 - defended in '03, England - Won '03 -defended in '07)

I would like one of the other 'second tier' teams to win the cup - I think it would be the best outcome for world Rugby.

By my claculations the quarter finals are
    SA vs Wales
    NZ vs Ireland

    FR vs Argentina
    Aussie vs Japan or Scotland

I could be quite happy with Argentina or France winning the cup - "if" New Zealand doesn't that is - I am holding out hope that the old men can still do it again!

Coincidently: We Just spent the weekend watching South Island under-18 and under-16 tournaments at Kaiapoi and Methven!

There was some very entertaining and quality rugby played but game results can become very subjective with interpretation of the ruck, mall and scrum rules!

Referees can have too much influence on game results regardless of their intentions to do so or not - I think most of them are dedicated and honest participants!

The same goes for International level but criticism has caused them to become so damn pedantic and now it's happening at every level at the expense of the game!

    Simple solution. Bring back rucking.

True. After catching up on the Tonga / Argentina game which was a comparitively free flowing game I watched the second half of last night's NRL final. Much better watching the league without those tedious scrums which now seem to have a 50% chance of being either reset or result in a penalty for God knows what. Also better without those horrible lineout drives. Not wanting to start a Union vs League debate (to each their own ... and I enjoy both) but yeah, a game of rugby can get a bit tedious with all it's down time now. As an example, I got up at 6.25am Sunday and watched the two games already played earlier that morning and fitted them in before the England / Aussie game. So it took me 95 minutes to watch 160 minutes of game time just by fast forwarding the times when the ball wasn't in play.

I like watching the scrums, but the phase after phase after phase of tight forwards pigging it up to gain half a metre or less is getting a tad tedious.

...by my calculations, (xy=wiz+luckxskill+bounce+heart=humansxthesquarero otoftheref'swhistle) and knowledge of a game that has scrums that can dictate what happens next, and, as big a bunch of ligaments and tendons as any other game of physical endeavour, a game where reading whats going to happen next and the inevitabilities of that happening, being at the whim of a real fucking silly shaped ball and the weather or just Newtons Theories, is leading me to think that most of you wouldn't know you were being fucked, 'til you coughed...
