Almost an but despite it being the RRWC (Rugby Referees World Cup) we still managed to stay in front of the Argies!

Their day in the sun is getting closer by the game - Ireland has the same problem - both dangerously lurking!

The AB's have 2 men in the bin and the Argies choose to take 3 points under the posts.
In a final yeah maybe but you fancy your scrum and never beaten the AB's...dumb rugby, but thanx for the let-off.

I think the refs are establishing a heavy hand early to give the teams no excuse when it gets to the pointy end of the comp.
It's good as long as theyre all consistant.

Actually when I watched the game - Barnes didn't make a bad job of refereeing it - and I think he was consistent enough considering!

I have yet to watch any of the matches (grumble grumble Sky Sports Grumble) - but IMO Consistent refereeing is good, but sometimes there can be a thing as too much refereeing (breaks the flow of the game)

Well it certainly looked like a trip. He deserved to go off.
that said Whitelock was held and half tackled without the ball costing NZ a try as well.
That's was missed yet is also on the video.

If they're going to have video ref's ruling on everything they see rather than simply supplying a 2nd opinion when called on then be prepared for a LOT of stoppages. If it becomes the standard method of adjudication they'll have to change the rules so that infringements are a hell of a lot less ambiguous. With the current rules and with 4 "refs" on the case you'd never get more than 30 seconds of play before someone "infringed".

Also: what the fuck was wrong with Conrad's pick off the floor? Looked perfectly legit to me.

Granted but when there was a try on the line it should have been referred.
As for Conrad no idea. LOL
Hands in the ruck simply he was there too late to be doing what he was and should not have used them.

Had a decent look at this video about four minutes look at the second view of richy then the smith one is seconds later.
    Conrad lol
He went over the top, never maintained his feet and basically tried to flop over the ball to spoil fast ball delivery he was to late to compete for the ball.
In his defence whoever was there first should have done a better job.
This was all right in front of the Ref, it was a professional foul

I'd have to look again but I'm not convinced it was a ruck to start with. The ball was on the ground and he stepped from in front of it over an Argie and flicked it back. Pretty sure he was still on his feet until the ball was gone.

TMO drives me nuts, its turning players into narcs. It all went down hill when they stopped rucking.

...it took some time for a new team to get their shit together, but they did...the Argentinians were always going to be a fierce foe to open up pool play with...they know they can knock the biggest over now...the difference was the AB's played for 80 minutes, the Pumas lost their game at about 69 minutes in...those changes made after half time were a big injection of skill and kill...the refs are only ever going to be refs...pressure, interpretation,human...same shit, another season...they looked good even when they were on the back foot...

Yup. With the best will in the world the actual crime rate is huge, only a fraction of which gets pinged.

We're well on the way down the gridiron route. And don't even start on the rampant diving in the other game, a valid ping should require actual blood as evidence...
