    Safe teen driver logging app?

I have one of my children in the restricted phase of their car drivers licence, and I'd love to find an iPhone app to log their driving time, driving conditions, driving time, and where they have been.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

There's an App that has been around for years, its called talking to your children.

Or just install snitch into their car.

Talking does not log anything of the things I want logged.

I can tell you don't have children. I also don't want to waste my time summing things up.

Do you think your kids wont be smart enough to turn the gps tracker off?

If you really want to spy on them, install snitch, or get them micro chipped.

Talk and trust, and realising once they reach a certain age you can't control everything they do anymore. They are teenagers and they are gonna do stupid shit. You wont stop them doing it, you'll just find out afterwards, then you are in danger of losing their trust in you, and their respect.
Hows the conversation gonna go down when you say 'I know you've done something you shouldn't have, I've been spying on you'.
Search there rooms when they're out too do you?

You guys [and girl] seem to have completely missed the point. This is to log supervised driving. Of course I know where they are - I'm sitting in the passenger seat.

The driver apps keep a count of the number of supervised hours spent driving on different kinds of roads in different kinds of conditions and different times of the day.

I'm confused - Do you want an app to keep track of what happens when you are in the car? Surely the stopwatch app and the notepad app fulfil these criteria? or have I missed the point entirely?

Have three teens driving at moment and record their odometer before they drive and when they come home with pen and paper, just like truck drivers do, it's called a log book fuckwit, then I'm not busy with my ifuck device, I'm watching them drive and under full supervision when with them,

Jaycar. Get and fit GPS tag (LA9011 was the last one I got) to car. Cheap and easy, logs a complete track which you can view live or retrace on PC.

Owning a Honda and living on the north shore he opbviously wants BBQ bragging rights about how highly trained his perfect 2.4 kids are.
Just use the cycling APP Strava, just about every street in Auckland will be a route segment and your kids will score heaps of King of the Mountain KOM ratings

I really fail to see why you want to do this...

You said restricted phase, which is unsupervised.

I find it hard to believe you need an app to tell you what's outside the window, and how long you have sat in the passengers seat.
