    Act my age?

I had to collect little Biff early from his school yesterday, apparently it had to close down due to the 'alledged' bad weather (bloody poofdas. call that snow!!). Slight snow mush on the road's surface made the going a little slippery - but nothing to be overly concerned about.

I pulled into the road on which we live and then proceeded to pull off the most impressive handbrake turn I think I've ever done - sliding sideways for a second then countering the slide with a little opposite lock and a wee bit of acceleration - stopping the car perfectly into my slot on our driveway - up a bit of a hill. Nice. Perfect in fact. Wish someone had filmed that.

"Dad!!", yelled young Biff, "What are you doing?"
"That son", said I smuggly," ..is what is known as a perfect handbrake turn."
    "Grow up", he said.

    I was gutted.

In the words of our Slipstream, "Has the time come for me to grow up?" (or words to that effect).

I am joking - I don't really care if you think I should grow up. It keeps me young.

Pompous little prick deserves a damned good thrashing for that comment! Grow up? NEVER! I used to get told to act my age and not my shoe size by my mother - well, I'm now older than my (UK) shoe size of 37, so yay, I will continue to act my shoe size!

Give him a few years and he'll be begging you to teach him how to do handbrake turns! And they DO impress the chicks, a few years ago I was going out with a young guy (12 years younger than me!) who was really good at handbrake turns. We went to a party, street full of cars and one space - and he parked with inches to spare! I thought he was pretty cool - until I took up rallying!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Far out man, he obviously doesn't appreciate the finer arts.

Get him a Subaru Justy (possibly the most hilarious car ever)

In a few years time it'll be all you can do to stop worrying about what he is doing in your car.

    "Grow up", he said.

    pompous little prat!

    keystone19's probably right though...

and never, ever stop doing handbrake turns. the day you stop doing handbrake turns will be the day Missus Biff starts making little hints about going to the doctor for those persistent erectile problems.

biff being the studly handbrakeying studmuffin that he undoubtedly is I am making the asumption that he has none at present, but that any development of such limpnoodleness will likely be corelated with a reduction in handbrake use.
