Blowby collection? Both my cbr250s have had the head breather disconnected from the airbox

Yup. Oil blowby and condensation. 80s Hondas also had a drain at the bottom of the airbox. Perhaps they kept on with this idea for the cbr.

Look for a tube coming from the bottom of the box with a plug in it. Remove plug over a container and let it drain. Wipe out residue. Keep on top of oil changes.

Another good reason to clean the air filter on a regular basis if this appears ...

On water cooled bikes ... it may not be condensation causing the white (water) colour ...

I hope you haven't just let it spray down to the ground in front of the rear tyre ... ???

Nah, they've been looped for pooling and tucked away with filters. Never had any blow by oil make it up to the filter

Old bike - probably never been cleaned out properly and you are seeing years of accumulated residue. Clean and ensure it can drain as above posts.

So this is normal? Ah true this is blow by collection, theres a hose under where the white stuff has accumulated, im guessing this is the drain. I'm confused mostly about colour and texture, could be from a lack of maintenace and condensation..
Cleaned it all up, rebuilt the carbs and now it runns like a dream haha! =D.
    Thanks for the info/advice guys!

I was thinking it could be a mix of oil and condensation thats causing the colour but i could be wrong. The bike is liquid cooled but i use a mix of water and coolant.

If it were water in the oil you'd see it when you dipped your stick. . . read that as you may.

^ If there was 'enough' water to worry about you would see it on the dipstick. Is there some of that white oily crap on the oil filler lid too?

Pull the hose off, clean it out, clean your airbox, check your coolant level, change the oil and see if it happens again.
