Bought my gf a birthday present recently (a new Kindle), but her birthday is still two weeks away.

I spotted her looking at purchasing the same exact model herself today. What the bloody hell do I do to stop her buying it without giving it away??

Tell her you wanted to get her a kindle for her birthday and you noticed her eyeing one up the other day and didn't want her to buy it just in case. If there's any drama... end it there and then and buy yourself a new kindle.

My Missus got a Kindle a few months ago, had a lot of trouble reading it due to glare from the sun so .... she's gone back to the library and reading normal books again, much happier.

When I was a kid it was my job to get the kindling in for the morning fire - is that the same kinda thing? - Totara was the best wood to kindle! (IMHO)
